Lettering in gilt to spine; lettering and decorative device blind-stamped to top cover. Spine lightly sunned. Leather on front cover with some water-spotting; rear cover with substantial spot of damp-staining. Textblock free of dampstaining, toning, or foxing. All edges gilt. Ribbon marker. Small period gift inscription to ffep. Illustrated throughout with small monochrome plates tipped on to card. Occasional light notation in pencil (such as birth date - death date on table of contents); easily removed if the reader sees so fit. Else internally bright and clean..
