About This Item

John W. Amerman. New York. 1864. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. (8.9 x 5.8 inches). 80pp. Large fold out map of the main steam ship lines of the world with the proposed American lines, at the rear. Tan paper wraps, printed in black. Circular blind stamp of Bibliotheque de Deep sea salvage on the title page. Front cover has 'Editor of the Herald' written in ink across the top. Edges rubbed and bumped with some loss to the bottom of the spine. Corners creased and chipped a little but overall a very good example of this scarce Civil War time publication. Only one copy located on Worldcat, at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
