In 1943, Louis Vargas Rea began a series of limited edition publications on a great variety of subjects all dealing with Hispanic America, the larger part of them with Mexico in particular. Mos of them are less than a hundred pages in length. History and historical documents have received the greatest attention, but there are also publications in archaeology, natural history, literature, art, geography, religion, economics, sociology, politics and other fields. In the period of 1943-1947 Vargas Rea has issued more than 140 separate publications in the series.
