Dark green sand-grain cloth over boards; blind stamped on covers with foliate central frame around publisher's device enclosed in ruled frame with foliate spandrels; black stamped titles and designs on spine; pale yellow end papers. Covers are clean but some slightly darkened areas that could be soiling or aging; rubbed at spine ends with some fraying; tightly bound; light foxing on end papers; owner name in pencil on front free end paper; date (1842) and vol numbers in pencil on title page; clean interior; some pages showing slight age darkening; leaves remain supple. 8vo, 380 pp (paged 192 + 188; illustrated with engravings.
