Chicago: Brothers of The Book, 1917. First Edition, Limited. Hardcover. Very Good/No Dustjacket. C. B. FALLS COPY. Signed and inscribed by Banning on ffe to woodcut artist and illustrtaor C. B. Falls and his wife: "To Charles and Bedelia - / "Pierrot and Columbine," - / from/ Kendall Banning/ January 8, 1918." Laid-in is photogravure-style postcard with WWI portratit of Banning by artist Jos. Cumming Chase and Paper-backed boards. Banning ANS on verso: "Well - until there's a law that prohibits/ the annual exchange of greetings - / "Happy New Year"/ Your calendar is a peach!/ K. B." Banning is making a mocking reference to Prohibition and late referring to 1918 calendar which Falls had designed, illutrated or both. Corners of boards bumped and worn, else nice all over. Orange paper over boards, with gold flecks, ppaer soine label. 91 pages. An anthology of poetry that refers to the fanciful half human/ half fairy figure Pierrot. Includes 8 page biblioography in rear of literary refrences to Pierrot. A unique copy.
