[only light shelfwear, but with some irregular fading to the cloth covers, one-time owner's name plus date & place of purchae written in ink at top of front endpaper; the jacket shows some wear along the top and bottom edges, very shallow paper loss at spine ends, a couple of little nicks along top edge of rear panel]. Chaney and Camberwell look into the mysterious death of a prominent London banker, uncovering clues that "raised startling questions about his personal habits, the private life of his nephew, and the affairs of the bank," taking them on a harrowing chase all about London, to the north of England, and ultimately to France. Published in England as "The Mystery of the London Banker." .
