FIRST EDITION. Hard cover. Sunday School Union, London (1880)
Very good. No dust jacket. 144 p. Includes frontis plus 5 other illustrations. Hard dark green boards with deeply incuse decoration with boy and title in gilt and black. Heavily decorated spine. gilt. black. Fine. No dust jacket. What an extraordinary front board. According to WORLDCAT no more than four copies are held in the world's libraries. Those copies give a date of 1881 or 1882 0r 1884 and it is likely those are dates from manuscript inscriptions. FIRST EDITION. Inscription on fep is dated New Year's Day 1888. Conditon FINE for age and probably FINE even without regard for age. A rare rare rare book. Brown end pages in mint condition. Top edge colored. A particular feature is the brilliance of the gilt on both front board and spine
