London, Ontario: University of Western Ontario, 1951. Softcover. Fair. iii (one-sided), 282 p. 28 cm. 80 b&w figures and a few tables. Green cloth spine and paper covers. Cloth torn at spine ends. Covers are creased and bottom rear corner chipped. Ink notations on covers. Ink signature on title page. Underlining of text as well as ink and pencil notations throughout.

Barr was co-discover of the sex chromatin known as the "Barr body." With this discovery, he assisted in initiating a new era in research and diagnosis of genetic disorders.
