Hardcover. xviii, 315p., preface, information, chronology, index, photos and maps including large folded map in rear pocket, textured red cloth binding with gilt lettering, first edition, light toning of the paper else very good condition in the first state dj chipped at the head and tail of the spine, completely split where front panel meets spine, internal, inexpert tape reinforcement along spine where it meets the rear panel, repairing, no doubt, another complete split. Edge worn throughout, toned on the rear panel with the President Roosevelt Proclamation. American Guide Series. Dykes 180, Powell 953.
