Federal Food Administration for State of New Hampshire, 1918. Broadside. Very Good. Original 1918 paper broadside announcing ""New Hampshire's Corn Meal Campaign,"" encouraging resident's to ""Buy It, Eat It, To Save Wheat, To Prevent Waste, To Avoid Financial Loss."" The broadside was printed during the summer of 1918 at the height of World War I. According to The Granite Monthly, New Hampshire had a surplus of corn but a lack of wheat that year. The corn could not be exported and had to be consumed at once. Using the slogan ""A Pound of Corn Used is a Pound of Wheat Saved,"" the Federal Food Administration for the state of New Hampshire used this poster to promote the use of corn meal in daily cooking in a successful campaign to consume an excess 2 million pounds of meal. Measures 21 x 14.5 in. Some toning and edge wear, inc. 3-4 1/8"" - 1/2"" closed tears to bottom edge; else bright and shows nicely. Ships flat. Rare in any condition.
