About This Item

San Pedro, CA: GSG & Associates, Publishers, 1984. 412 pages. It says first edition but it probably is referring the Dodd, Mead & Co printing. of 1984. It has a different ISBN; it is probably a reprint. The book consists of three parts: Part I. The Two Methodologies, Part II. The Disinformation Program and Its Impact on the West and Part III.The Final Phase and the Western Counter-Strategy. A list of chapter headings in Part II lists the various disinformation campaigns since the 1950s aimed at deceiving and confusing Western strategists as to whether the alleged "split" were genuine. The indication is that despite the amount of publicity given to these alleged splits there is evidence of continued cooperation of the communist governments of the various countries and the parties acting out the appearance of independence. Some examples: The Soviet-Yugoslav "Dispute" from 1958 to 1960; the Soviet-Albanian "Dispute" and "Split"; The Sino-Soviet "Split"; the alleged recurrence of power struggles in the Soviet, Chinese and other parties; the alleged "democratization" in Czechoslovakia in 1968; the "Evolution" of the Soviet regime in the form the Dissident Movement; "Eurocommunism". In other words the alleged fracturing and weaknesses between the various tentacles of the worldwide communist movement acted out on the world stage were just that--deception to deceive the West into dropping their guard or relaxing their vigilance against the evil aims of communism.. Reprint. Soft Cover. VG to Fine. Soviet Disinformation Strategy.
