About the author

Vince Cobley is Britain's best-known off-roader, with over 25 years' experience as a professional competitor and instructor, working for the Land Rover Experience and his own company, Pro-Trax, running off-road expeditions all over the world. He has also been a regular contributor to Land Rover Owner International magazine for over 15 years.Dave Phillips is Britain's best-known Land Rover journalist. A former editor of Land Rover Owner International, he is now a regular contributor and columnist for Land Rover Monthly. He drove his first Land Rover at the age of 14, in a farmer's field and since then he has driven off-road all over the world, from the Arctic Circle to the Tropics.

Dave Phillips is one of the world's best-known Land Rover writers and is a former editor of both Land Rover Owner International and Land Rover Monthly, the best-selling British magazines on the subject. He is also co-author of the Off-Road Driving Manual (Haynes). He grew up in rural Norfolk in an era when every other vehicle on the country lanes was a hard-working Land Rover and has since driven these vehicles in most parts of the globe, including across deserts, up mountains and through tropical forests. These days he lives in Northamptonshire's Nene valley, which he enjoys exploring in his 1984 Ninety and 1996 Discovery.
