About This Item

Ogden, UT: A.L. Scoville Press, 1916. [16]pp. Sextodecimo [17 cm] Illustrated wrappers. Near fine. Printed greeting from the printed laid in. Nicely printed program for the 1916 Pioneer Day festivities in Ogden. The program of events is followed by a list of all the living pioneers who made the overland trek between 1847 and 1869, who were then residing in Weber County. All pages have charming silhouette illustrations by M. Charles Woods. Advertisements for Union Pacific and the Goodale-Scoville Company. David O. McKay is listed as the director of the street pageant.

"This souvenir, got out in haste, is despite that a piece of art, and we have been told so by those who ken a thing or two. It illustrates the fact that the A.L. Scoville Press of Ogden can conceive beautiful ideas when left to its own notions." - laid in card.
