About This Item
Indianapolis: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1909. Hardcover. Decorations by Earl Stetson Crawford. Small 4to. Blind-embossed lavender cloth with gilt lettering and oval color plate on front board. (32pp). Color frontispiece, 5 full-page color plates. Very good. Tight 'n' bright, with just the faintest corner wear; two small edge tears on text page expertly archivally mended. A tight and striking first edition of this charming compilation of shamelessly romantic verse by obscure poets, each page surrounded by ornate pale lavender decorations by artist Crawford (1877-1934), interspersed with lush artwork by Underwood (1871-1929). A lovely production.
