Hutchinson of London, London, 1972. Reprinted Before Publication. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Good. 368 pages, references and index. Light blue coloured endpapers. Black-and-white photographic frontispiece of Lord Reith. Dark blue boards with dark maroon insert on the spine and gilt writing within the insert. Purple coloured tint to the top paper edge. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and rubbing to all book corners. Shelfwear to the lower book edges. Some dust marks to the cloth of the book. Photographic dustwrapper, same photograph as for frontispiece, with blue and white writing on the front panel and black on the spine. Rubbing to the dustwrapper corners and to the lower dustwrapper edge. The white of the spine and back panel has become yellow and grubby. A small tear to the top, rear spine gutter crease and a small need to the lower front spine gutter crease. Rubbing and creasing to the lower front dustwrapper edge. Some transfer of colour of the purple insert of the spine to the verso of the dustwrapper. Biography of Lord Reith who at 33 became the general manager of the British Broadcasting Company -- the BBC. It was under his leadership that the BBC became one of the great public corporations of England, if not the world. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
