About This Item
1834 DANTE Convivio The Banquet Monarchia Medieval Poetry Italian 5v Set RARE
"Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."
― Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy
While best-known for the famous 'Divine Comedy', Dante Alighieri also wrote two lesser-known works such as 'Convivio'. 'Convivio', or 'The Banquet' is a collection of Dante's own knowledge, a sort of encyclopedia of philosophy, religion, science, history, and astronomy. This collection of Dante's minor works includes Convivio and 'Monarchia' – a treatise on political philosophy.
This five-volume Italian edition of Dante's works was published in Florence. A fine five-volume set!
