About This Item

Garden City, N.Y: DOUBLEDAY, 1948. Later printing. Hardcover Hardcover. Very Good/None. A nice copy of this classic western tale which is enhanced by the numerous Thomas Hart Benton illustrations. The covers are soiled , spine lightly faded and bumped as are the corners. There is foxing to the contents but the illustrations remain colorful and the binding is tight. No dust jacket.

Synopsis

On April 28, 1846, Francis Parkman left Saint Louis on his first expedition west. The Oregon Trail documents his adventures in the wilderness, sheds light on America's westward expansion, and celebrates the American spirit.
