About This Item

This is a rare 1st edition copy of "OTHERS - An Anthology of the New Verse" with its scarcely found original dust jacket ($1.50 price on the spine). Published March, 1916 by Alfred A. Knopf in New York. Edited by Alfred Kreymborg. Modernist poetry anthology with poems by T.S. Eliot, Ezra Pound, Man Ray, Carl Sandburg, William Carlos Williams, and many others (see the front flap of the dust jacket for the complete list of poets).

From the dust jacket:
"This volume to which about fifty men and women have contributed, cannot be overlooked by any lover of poetry or of literature. They are among the live things being done in America just now. Perhaps you are unfamiliar with this new 'poetry' that is called 'revolutionary.' Perhaps you've heard that it is queer and have let it go at that. Perhaps if you tried it you'd find that a side of you that had been sleeping would come awake again. It is worth the price of a Wednesday matinee to find out."

Condition:
The top edge of the spine has chipped off; tears along the left and right edges of the spine at the top and bottom; light staining along the bottom edges of the boards. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. The pages are in very good condition - lightly tanned, but clean with no writing, stains, tears or foxing found. The dust jacket has some tears along the top edge and at the top and bottom edges of the spine; soiling to the front cover, spine, top edge and at the flap creases. (The dust jacket comes with a clear protective sleeve - not shown.)
