Heinemann, 1894. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG. 1st Edition. 13 x 19.7cm green cloth with gilt stamped titles and decoration to the front and spine, blind stamped publisher's device to the rear and uncut edges viii, 271 (4) author's works + 20pp publisher's catalogue and including photographic portrait frontispiece of the author. The boards are clean with bright, gilt titles. A little light rubbing to the edges and spine tips which also have a hint of pushing. Internally, there is a little splitting of the endpapers at the front hinge although the binding remains firm. There is toning to the endpapers and the occasional light spot and an ownership name to the title page. The book is now protected by a rigid, removable, plastic cover (not shown) A work consisting of six short stories that this Irish early feminist writer described as an 'experiment'.
