Illustrated with four hundred and thirty-eight plates (collated complete), many of which are coloured. Volume I: The Birth of Christianity Volume II: The Builders of the Church Volume III: The Rise of the Modern Churches Volume IV: Christianity and Modern Thought Volume V: Christianity To-Day and To-Morrow Arthur Samuel Peake (18651929) was an English biblical scholar, born at Leek, Staffordshire, and educated at St John's College, Oxford. He was the first non-Anglican to become a professor of divinity in an English university. Complete in five volumes. In navy cloth bindings. Externally, sound, though with some rubbing and bumping. Internally, firmly bound. Four hinges are slightly strained. Pages are bright, though with some scattered instances of spotting. Very Good
