Early vellum, spine ruled in gilt, with simple gilt-stamped ornament in spine compartments, manuscript title in first compartment; complete set of 3 volumes, 8vo (194x114mm); pp. [384], 704, plus engraved illustrated half-title p., 2 full-page plates; [4], 1124, plus frontispiece and 5 plates; 982, plus frontispiece and 5 plates; each volume with engraved illustrations in text. Vellum a little rubbed and dust-smudged; spine tips and corners very lightly bumped. A little foxed or with some faint marginal dampstain; but, overall, a clean, unmarked set.
