London: Leo Cooper, 1991. VG+/VG. First edition, first printing in d/w not price clipped. PRESENTATION COPY INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY THE SUBJECT OF THE BOOK, MAJOR BILL CLOSE, on title-page. Inscription reads, 'To ---/With Best Wishes/Bill Close/March 1992'. Illustrated with photographs (including Major Bill Close) and maps. Major Bill Close (1914-2006), of the 3rd Royal Tank Regiment, had forty tanks 'shot out' from under him. He served at Calais 1940, Greece 1941, Sidi Rezegh, Gazala and Alamein. Including Bibliography and Index. D/w spine has some sunning; d/w has short edge tear (12mm long); else a very good plus copy, in a very good d/w, of a SCARCE first edition, first printing SIGNED BY MAJOR BILL CLOSE. D/w now protected in a detachable, non-adhesive, clear sheaf.. Presentation Copy Signed By Subject Of Book. First edition, First Printing. Hardback. Very Good Plus/Very Good.
