New York, NY: The Viking Press, 1935. Book. Very Good. Cloth. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Red and blue cloth hard cover with gilt design across the top , front, spine, and back with raised lettering to all. First Edition, first published June 1935, so stated. This copy is VG in a VG, unclipped ($2.50) , first state ( no reviews on back) DJ. Exterior has modest rubbing to the spine, slightly crimped spine ends/tips. Inside has small book seller label to the bottom FEP, otherwise unmarked, crisp and tight. Top page edges dyed red. Modest/moderate even toning throughout. DJ has verso tape repair to front leading edge, with moderate rubbing to other edges and minimal chipping. Spine is very modestly sun lightened. This author's only book. Made into a Stanley Kubrick film starring Kirk Douglas decades later..
