London, Hodder & Stoughton, 1911 5th (Same year as 1st). Hardback, 8 x 5.5 inches. Green cloth with gilt titles on spine, and attractive pictorial white decorations to front board. In very good condition. Fading to cloth on spine and rear boards, front white decorations nice and bright, corners a little bumped. Endpapers darkened & inscription dated 1912. Moderate foxing to prelims and inside pages. One plate a little tatty on edges with two tears. Other Plates still clean and bright. Else a good clean and tight copy. 267pp; Illustrated with 12 B&W plates including frontis and decorative title page. This novel was first published in 1911, following the 1904 play. Telling the familiar story of Peter Pan, the boy who wouldn't grow up, the Lost Boys, Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, the children of Darling family, and their adventures in Neverland. The final chapter of this novel, entitled 'When Wendy Grew Up', sees Peter visiting a grown up Wendy. This had not appeared in the play or earlier versions of the story.
