But if by reafon of the too great clofenefs of the Hole in the Earth, it (hall by experience be found, that the great fmother of the Fume, extinguimes the burning Brimftone; then a lefs deep Hole may be made ufeof, on which a Cafk may be fet with both its Heads out j the Bread or Corn Cafk being fet on this, ar fuch a height from the burning Brimftoiv as to prevent the Bread or Corn, being fcor"! by it; for which purpofe about a Yart, be high enough: If need require, there m, be two or three Holes boared in the fides q F 4 the the headlds Under Cafk, or fome fpace left at the Bottom, in the Earth, to give vent enough to keep the Brimftone burning. 'Tis probable that by this means, Bifcuit, Corn, &c. may be long preferred from being worm-eaten.
