This is a profusely illustrated antique educational book, "The Picturesque Geographical Readers" ~ "This Continent of Ours" by Charles F. King. 1891; Lee and Shepard; Boston. "Supplementary and Regular Reading in the Lower Classes in Grammar Schools, Public Libraries, and the Home." The book is richly illustrated with beautifully detailed drawings and maps throughout. Here are a few examples of the contents: A Frozen Region; Whaling; A Prairie-dog Village; Rain and Wind; The White Mountains; Some Noted Rivers; Climate; The Falls of Niagara; Fur Traders; Catching Cod; The Great Northwest and Farther West; A Journey of Four Thousand Miles; Mexican Farming and Mining; The West Indies; The Dominion of Canada...and much more.

Condition:
Soiling/staining to the covers and spine. The lettering and illustrations on the spine have faded a bit. Tiny cloth tears at the outer corner tips of the front cover. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Foxing to the long and bottom edges of the text block. Occasional light foxing, smudges and stains on the text pages. Heavier foxing on the end papers and pastedowns. Name written in ink in old handwriting on the title page. Overall the book is in Good- condition.
