Authorised, revised and enlarged. Held institutionally in only four UK libraries. Rebound in beautiful decorative calf, with gilt detail, by Riviere & Sons. A charming collection of poetry by Ella Wheeler Wilcox. Featuring titles such as, 'Love is All', 'A Fallen Leaf', and, 'New and Old'. This collection, first published in 1883, threatened to spark a scandal due to its title. However the poems became much beloved by the American public. Ella Wheeler Wilcox was an American author and poet. She is best known for her poem, 'Solitude', which features in this collection. The half title page is present. With a bookplate for one, 'H. Fane H. Sewell' to the front paste-down, and the previous owner's ink signature to the title page. In addition to a sticker, with a portrait illustration of Wilcox, to the first page. Rebound in full calf. Externally, very smart with some light rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine. Light marks to the boards. Bookplate to the front paste-down.Spotting to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Offsetting to the free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean. Age-toning to the edges. Scattered spots throughout. Offsetting to the front and rear blanks. Blind stamp to the front and rear blanks. Previous owner's ink signature to the title page. Illustrated sticker to the first page. Very Good
