[3], xii-xiv, [1], 16-533, [1] p., frontispiece portrait of the author and 12 additional leaves of plates; 17 cm. Publisher's dark blue cloth with embossed cover title "Mrs. Browning's Poems" over gilt on front board and blind on back board. Boards have bevelled edges. Rebacked with dark blue cloth, retaining lower section of original cloth. All page edges gilt. Original dark brown endpapers. Each page printed within red ruled border. The list of illustrations omits both the frontispiece and a plate captioned "Bettine" facing p. 138. In Very Good- Condition: modern cloth rebacking, retaining lower section of original cloth spine; Japanese tissue repair of hinges; foxing along edges of frontispiece; faint dampstain along fore-edges of some early leaves and very faintly at lower corner on later leaves; otherwise, clean and tight.
