Hardcover, half-bound (spine, part of the boards, and corners) in brown leather over marbled paper. Matching marbled endpapers. Blue, white, and red marbling is in Turkish Antique pattern over Spanish Moire. Spine has five raised bands. Title "Byron's Poetical Works" in gold on one panel; remaining panels have small with gilt floral devices. Tail of spine has "London" in gold. Top edges gilt. Deckle fore and bottom edges. Frontispiece portrait of Byron has tissue guard. Text in two columns. Hinges NOT cracked. Corners and spine ends bumped and rubbed, with boards exposed at some tips. Some cracking of leather along exterior hinge lines. Covers have light surface and edge wear, with some greenish discoloration to parts of the leather. Gift inscription in ink on first blank fly leaf after endpapers. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. 720 pages. No dust jacket. Printed by Ballantyne, Hanson & Co., Edinburgh & London. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
