A VG+ copy. xciv + 111 pages. 6 illustrations. With a note on French versification by R.P.L. Ledésert. Polyeucte - Martyr is one of the last 17th-century French dramas with a religious subject and is a tragedy in five acts. It was first performed in 1643. Polyeucte is an Armenian nobleman who converts to Christianity and is martyred by the Romans. Text in English except for the play which is in French. Drame en Français. B2D. First Thus. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
