Bust portrait of theologian Lucas Trelcatius II (1573-1607), turned towards the right, looking at the observer. In oval frame, lettered at the top: ""PRUDENTIA ET SIMPLICITATE"", within further rectangular frames. Inscribed under the portrait: ""LUCAS TRELCATIUS FILIUS, S.S.Theologiae Professor."" With address of van der AA: ""Lugd. Bat. ex Officina Petri Vander Aa."" Included in Van der Aa's ""Fundatoris, Curatorum et Professorum celeberrimorum aliorumque illustrium virorum..."" published in Leiden between 1715 and 1716. "". Engraving with some etching on paper from three plates; with broad margins; plate mark: 352 x 254 mm, total: 418 x 330 mm; browning paper with some light staining, traces of previous mountings on verso; smudges due to handling on the right side; on verso some pencil scribbling on the bottom corners.
