At 15, Michel was taken to Auschwitz, where his parents and grandmother died and where he witnessed unbearable atrocities, including the conducting of medical experiments on girls and women by Joseph Mengele. Late in the afternoon of April 15, 1945, the author and two friends escaped and he went on to became a successful speaker and fund-raiser for the United Jewish Appeal in America, leading a group to Auschwitz, and participating in the World Gathering of Survivors in Israel and more. Illustrated with photographs. INSCRIBED on the front endpaper with the exhortation to "Remember! Never forget." xvii, 298 pp.
