Mild occasional smudging, water staining in the margins and minor old repairs, otherwise a very good example of this scarce manuscript Qur’an. . Binding: 19th century full calf with tooled corner pieces and center piece on covers. Gilt ornamentation saved from original spine. , Notes: A fine Qur’an from the mid 18th century. Text is written in Arabic on 502 leaves. Written in nasta’liq script in black and red ink with 11 lines to a page. Occasional notes in red and black ink in margins. , Size: 4to (275x185mm). , Illustration: Illustrated with a superb double-page illuminated watercolour title page in various colours and gold. The work throughout is illustrated with diacritics and vowel points in black and red, red roundels marking verses, margins ruled in red and blue, and surah headings are distinguished by red rules. , Category: Book Manuscript; Book Religious Islam;
