Preston: The Harris Press, 1967. NO. 153 OF 200 COPIES, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, 4to, pp. [18]. Stitched as issued in black paper wrappers printed in white. Wrappers slightly marked. Signed to the flyleaf: ‘Hugh MacDiarmid, Sept 1967’. The first separate publication of this poem, first printed in 1934’s ‘Stony Limits and Other Poems’. It was designed and printed by students at the School of Art, Harris College and has 4 striking full-page colour illustrations by Alan D. Powell. In addition to the numbered limitation to the rear this copy is also signed by MacDiarmid to the front flyleaf.

Established in 1957, McNaughtan's Bookshop is the oldest surviving secondhand and antiquarian bookshop in Scotland. Located in the basement of a listed 1820s tenement building at the top of Edinburgh's Leith Walk, we are the only open shop in Edinburgh holding membership of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association.
