A short but detailed account of the survey parties and their explorations in search of a viable railroad route to the Pacific, mentioning Los Angelos, San Bernardino Valley, the Gila River, the Mohave and Colorado Rivers, and many other locales in Southern California. Jefferson Davis's name appears, with a brief letter of transmittal, at the beginning of this report. FAIR condition. First leaf DETACHED from the rest, with the other two pages weakening. Some chipping and creasing along the binding edge. General minor toning to the paper. Light crease to the lower corner.
