About This Item
Scuffing to jacket edges and some chipping to header and footer of jacket spine. A damp spot on top block edge has led to some of the grey stain dripping down inside the front cover, leaving grey discoloration on front free endpaper and front jacket flap. This copy, for unknown reasons, has an additional, identical dust jacket which has a bit more wear and sunning.
This is a first printing of Faulkner's classic novel. First editions of this book were not stated as such, but they had the grey stained top edge which this copy has.
Synopsis
Requiem for a Nun is a book written by William Faulkner in 1951. Like many of Faulkner's works, Requiem experiments with narrative technique—the book is part novel, part play. The protagonist is Temple Drake, a character introduced as a college student in Sanctuary, one of Faulkner's early novels. In Requiem Temple, now married with a child, must learn to deal with her violent, turbulent past as related in Sanctuary.
