Westerly, Rhode Island: Self-published/The Utter Company, Printers, 1977 Green cloth; gilt title and spine lettering. Memoir. The author was known to generations as "Mr. Block Island" — a coach, author, teacher, champion baseball player, commercial fisherman, civic leader, and quintessential role model, according to his obituary in the Providence Journal following his 1996 death at age 101. With few simple black-and-white illustrations and an artistic line-drawn map of the Island by DuBois. SIGNED by author and with date, location, and notation "age 84 years" on front endpaper. Light rubbing to cover extremities. Light prior label(?) shadow to front endpaper. Otherwise clean, tight, and unworn.
