New York: Julian Messner, 1951. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED by America's clown Emmett Kelly at half-title page -" With Best Wishes to Sarah From Emmett Kelly 1952". Kelly joined the Ringling Brothers Circus in 1942 and remained with them until 1956. 1952 was also the year Kelly appeared in the Oscar winner for Best Picture "The Greatest Show on Earth.". At his death in 1979 he was the world's most famous clown. Near Fine, top edge evenly soiled, in a Very Good dust jacket, spine sunned, small chips at spine ends and corners. This title SCARCE SIGNED by Emmett Kelly.. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED. First Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
