Signed and inscribed as a presentation copy by Vary on inside front cover with date Dec. 3, 1926. In 1943, Vary was the manager of industrial relations at Bethlehem Steel. 'The object of this book is to acquaint the prospective citizen in the Bethlehem District with an outline of the entire fabric of our Government including that of the township, borough, city, county and state as well as that of the Federal Government.... The book is issued to all members of the Bethlehem Steel Company Naturalization School when they register for study preparatory to the filing of their petitions for full citizenship.' Very rare complete set of 12x original colour postcards (undated, but from 1929-1930). Unused and in Very Good condition (with very occasional spotting). All but 1 bear the printed signature 'JOHNS'. Illustrated by WE Johns who was later to create 'Biggles'. Though no publisher is stated, these were published by WE Johns' "Aircraft & General Fine Art Company" in East Grinstead, Sussex.
