Leipzig: Karl Baedeker. Very Good+ with no dust jacket. 1897. Second Edition. Hardcover. Baedeker's 'Russia' in French. Slim Red cloth Boards with bright gilt titling to the spine and to the front board. The background colour to the spine is slightly fading towards pink but all lettering is clear and bright. The very corner tip to the lower front cover is rubbed through but all else is near fine. The book is in Excellent condition - Very Clean, Tight and Bright. All hinges secure. Good deep colour to the front and rear boards. This is the "Deuxieme Edition. Avec 14 cartes et 22 Plans" - ALL Maps and plans are in Near Fine condition, intact and as called for. The original 'russian green' ribbon bookmarker is still present and complete. All edges marbled. (xlviii) + 447 pp. Plain Lemon endpapers - but the front pastedown has a black printed list of 'Guides Baedeker'. The ffep has a former owner's name, place, and date written in pencil, and his heraldic bookplate is loosely inserted in the book (surname =Thomas-Ferrand). French Text throughout. There is a Large fold out 'Carte Routiere de la Russie Centrale' at the end of the book. There are No tears to the Maps and overall this copy is an Excellent Very Clean, Tight and Bright copy. ; Guides Baedeker; 16mo 6" - 7" tall .
