Printed for Private Distribution [by The De Vinne Press], 1904. Lacking printed paper spine label, some trifling wear to covers, internally fine. 8vo. x, 152, [1] pages. 19 plates, of which three in color of flies, the remaining gravures from photographs. Original half white parchment, grey-green boards. Provenance: Arthur C. Cooper (armorial bookplate). Number 29 of 100 copies of the second edition, printed on Imperial Japan (the first had 143 pages). Davis was one of the eight founding members of the Cascapedia Club, which purchased the lease of the river from the Canadian Government in the 1870s (it had previously been leased to Canada's Governor Generals). One of the world's great salmon rivers, it is famous for yielding huge fish. Bruns D25; Gee 88; Litchfield 71.
