Hardback, 1905, with eight illustration plates, examples of musical notation and appendices, published by J. M. Dent & Co., London, 281 pages + x.
Octavo/8vo. Measures around 7 3/8" by 5 5/8" by 1 1/8". Burgundy-red cloth binding, gilt lettering and pictorial detail to front board and spine. A little discolouration but colouring reasonably vivid. Scuffing and a little marking, some signs of shelf-wear, slightly bumped corners. Binding reasonably firm, slight slackness but holding well and no cracking to hinges. Page edges deckled with browning, foxing, scuffing and marking. Upper edges gilt. A little foxing throughout page surfaces. Some marking to endpapers, previous owner inscription to front pastedown but otherwise page surfaces clean, with no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information.
