Chicago: Belford, Clarke & Co, 1885. Miss Porter (1776-1850) first published this history in 1810; she revised it in 1831into a Standard Edition. This copy has no publication date, but Quercus judges it to be from the mid-1880s - a "Caxton Edition." A Very Good Plus to Near Fine copy. Tan decorative cloth binding; fancy floral designs filled in black; spine title block is gilt. Clean text; 676 pages, indexed. Mild bumps and rub at head & foot of spine. Previous-owner label on the Second free endpaper. An attractive and solid copy. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Later Printing.. Decorative Cloth. Very Good Plus/No Jacket.
