This helped him gain some light upon the oriental life, and secured some apt illustrations for the sacred writings, as well as valuable pictures. Illustrated with one hundred and fifty illustrations from original photographs by the author as well as two maps. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally smart with some shelf wear and a slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. With a minor closed tear tot he rear joint, and evidence of an attempted removal of a sticker to the spine. With a library bookplate to the front pastedown, as well as a sticker to the front free endpaper. Inscribed with numbers 22527 to the verso of the title page. Internally, fimrly bound.
