Jacket with 30% missing from spine. 1951 on title page, Hard Cover. vii, [1], 230 pp. 8vo. Map Illustrated endpapers. Author's second book. Carson would go on to write Silent Spring, which started the modern environmental movement as we know it, resulting in the ban of DDT and the creation of the EPA.
