Book Condition: Near Fine; light shelfwear to head, tail, and tips. No DJ. Red grained buckram boards and spine with bright black lettering on the spine and front and rear boards with drawing in black on front board. 213 pp 8vo. At the age of 21 in 1937 the author joined the US Marines and was sent to Tientsin China for duty with the China Marines. When WWII broke out they were taken captive and would be so until 1945. This book is the story of the author's life as a prisoner of war under the Japanese. With photographic proof he shows the maltreatment of POWs and tells of the torture and starvation they endured until they were freed in 1945. A clean very presentable copy.
