Grosset & Dunlap, 1929. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. GOOD SOLID COPY! First Edition, 14th Printing. 1937B-14 according to the Carpentieri reference. Tan cloth boards with brown lettering, frontispiece, decorative orange end pages and blue upper page edges. Appears to have no marks or writings, pages bright and clean, binding tight and sound. Light shelf wear, slight spine lean, light scratch to back cover, light fading to spine with a few light water spots, light wear to spine ends and corners. Bubble wrapped and shipped in box. D
Synopsis
The Secret of the Caves is Volume 7 in the original The Hardy Boys Mystery Stories published by Grosset & Dunlap. This book was written for the Stratemeyer Syndicate by Leslie McFarlane in 1929. Between 1959 and 1973 the first 38 volumes of this series were systematically revised as part of a project directed by Harriet Adams, Edward Stratemeyer's daughter.The original version of this book was rewritten in 1965 by Andrew E. Svenson resulting in two different stories with the same title.
