About This Item
Orangevale, CA: the Committee, 1967. Newsletter. Original tattered envelope containing seven mimeographed items from the effort to recall Ronald Reagan one year into his term as California governor. Includes two newsletters listing activities and local contacts, three brief generic letters with updates about a petition campaign, a donation card, and a three-page, 8.5x14 inch untitled pamphlet attacking Reagan's effects on the state's medical system as a result of his philosophy of cutting government spending. The Committee was led by Nancy Parr, a registered nurse, with other officers listed on various items as Edwin Koupal, Joyce Koupal, and Melvia Jones. The effort collected about a half a million signatures, but this was substantially short of the required number.
