Santa Rosa, Ca: Black Sparrow Press, 1991. First Edition Limited. Quarto. #232 of 750 copies. signed by Bukowski. 85pp. This issue was dedicated to Sean Penn. Each poem is strongly autobiographical and especially "Hangovers". The poem "The word" speaks of his life in cheap rooming house trying to survive while reading Hemingway, Kierkegaard, E.E. Cummings and falling asleep drunk while the paperbacks hit the store causing the landlady to complain about the noise. A fine copy bound in ¼ black cloth over decorative paper covered boards lettered and decorated in black, turquoise, gray and pink, paper spine label lettered in black and turquoise in the original plain turquoise dust jacket with 3 small closed edge tears. (Krumhansl 22).
