About This Item

NY: Flatiron, 2015. First American Edition. Hardcover. As New/As New. 1st printing American edition. Cloth. 293pp. One of the best-written books I have ever read in terms of command of prose describing the author's external and internal landscape (the land and his mind and soul). Rebanks' first book on sustainable animal husbandry is set on his family's sheep farm in the beautiful Lake District of England. It is also a coming-of-age book tracing his growth as a sheep-raiser's son used to a lot of demanding work to an appreciation for that way of life to and advocate of intelligent decision-making with regard to land use in England. His second book, English Pastoral, just published, in combination with The Shepherd's Life, has really Rebanks on the map. This is a fine, as new copy in fine, as new dj. Your bookseller is a real, independent bookseller, not a warehouse minion or anomalous reseller.
